I’m still suffering the loss of my cat; he used to hang out with me at the studio whilst I produce. It’s difficult to go back to normal life without him but I’m getting there and have started to be able to listen and work on music. The problem with trance is that it tends to be either joyful or qute melencolic – neither emotions that I really fancied dealing with this past week. Every time I played the piano I would just dissolve. I still miss my cat but hopefully I can start to use the emotion in my productions again and I’m looking for a kitten to fill some of the hole Moog has left in my life. Podcast should be available in the next few days.

Optik Vs Imogen Heap – Hide and Seek

A lot of people have been requesting an mp3 download of my old remix of Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek (made famous by that episode of The O.C. I did the remix a long time ago – so the quality isn’t up to today’s standards and it was just for a little fun (I never expected 250,000 people would hear it!) . The main work of the remix was fixing the timing of the original vocodered vocal – it took ages to get it to conform to a 4/4 beat and sound natural and involved hundreds of time stretch and compress operations.
